The Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo Foundation (OKWAF) has given local hospitals and health centers in the Akuapem area $450,000 worth of necessary surgical supplies.

The donation, which was made in collaboration with the Ghana American Sterile Processing Professionals (GASPPRO) and Alpha Health Group, Inc., was made in response to a need assessment that highlighted the difficulties some of the area’s clinics and healthcare facilities were having providing effective medical care.

A few of the issues were a lack of essential surgical supplies and broken or outdated equipment. As a result, it is anticipated that the donation will improve the facilities’ ability to carry out crucial surgeries and save countless lives.

On behalf of all the beneficiaries, Margaret Larbi, a representative of Okuapeman East Orange Hospital, and the principal nursing officer at Tetteh Quashie Memorial Hospital in Agartha Abora accepted the items from the foundation’s executive director, Emmanuel Asa-Ntow.

Dr. George Gyamfi-Osew, a board member of OKWAF, the Okuapehene Sompahene, who represented Okuapehene Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, and Nana Kwabena Mensah, CEO of Alpha Health Group, Inc., were also present at the presentation ceremony.

Tetteh Quashie Memorial Hospital in Mampong, Okuapeman East Orange Hospital in Akropong, and all of the CHPS compounds in the Akuapem range are a few of the facilities that benefited.

Mr. Asa-Ntow briefly spoke with Ghana360news, stating that the OKWAF, Alpha Health Group, Inc., and GASPPRO gesture has brought attention to the significance of non-governmental organizations and individuals working together to support healthcare systems across the globe.

According to him, it served as a reminder that kindness and generosity were crucial elements of any progressive society, inspiring other well-intentioned organizations to unite in imitation of OKAF’s admirable deed because contributions, no matter how large or small, could have a significant impact on healthcare outcomes.

He stated that the partnership’s goal of bringing about significant change in healthcare delivery, making it more effective, accessible, and equitable, meaning that the donation’s significance would extend beyond its immediate effects on the various healthcare facilities.

The commitment of OKWAF to this cause further emphasizes how important civic organizations are to bolstering the healthcare system.

The altruistic spirit demonstrated by The Alpha Health Group, Inc./GASPPRO and the Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo Foundation is a source of inspiration for others, encouraging them to donate their time, money, and resources in order to create a more positive and healthy world.

It serves as an example of the transformative potential of group efforts to uphold health care as a basic human right.

“Together, we can make a lasting impact and bring hope and healing to those in need,” Mr Asa-Ntow said.
