The Electoral Commission (EC) is scheduled to hold elections today, Thursday, December 21, in districts where polling was previously postponed.

This decision comes after 40 districts in the Ashanti and Eastern Regions encountered challenges, including ballot paper errors, delays in the distribution of voting materials, and malfunctions in Biometric Verification Devices (BVD).

Expressing dissatisfaction with the EC’s handling of the District Level Elections, the Coalition of District Election Observers (CODEO) highlighted technical difficulties with the ballot machines and printing issues with the ballot papers, especially in the Ashanti and Eastern regions, resulting in the postponement of the elections.

CODEO criticized the EC for falling short of expectations and urged the commission to enhance its performance in future electoral processes.
