The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer election will be won by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over Martin Kwaku Adjei-Mensah Korsah, a member of parliament for Techiman South Constituency.

According to him, Dr. Bawumua represents the NPP’s best option for the general elections in 2024.

If Bawumia loses, I’ll change my name from Martin to Martha since it would mean the end of the world.

“Bawumia’s victory seems inevitable; from the moment he decided to run for office, he was a clear winner, but given the nature of democracy, who would have handed him the victory? Nope.

“He has been our best bet going forward; he would win big, even from the moment he decided to contest.”

On Saturday, November 4, the NPP will run for flagbearer.

The rules for the 276 seats around the nation as well as the Party Headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra, have been provided by the Presidential Elections Committee.

The committee said in a statement that the guidelines delineated the protocols and regulations for the primary elections that would choose a presidential candidate for the general election in 2024.

The entire burden of guaranteeing an open, free, and fair election rests on the Electoral Commission (EC), which will oversee election operations. Nobody is allowed to act in a way that violates the EC and these principles, not even party officials.

The Committee further stated that “only delegates, members of the Presidential Elections Committee, contestants, and their authorized agents are permitted access beyond security perimeters. The police are solely responsible for security matters.” The National Council has given the Party’s Presidential Elections Committee the constitutional authority to supervise the planning and execution of the presidential candidate election, according to the committee.

The committee further declared that there would be no delegate camping, that accreditation is constituency-specific, that the media would be granted credentials, and that there would be no campaigning, soliciting votes, or gatherings of party members for any reason the day before voting.

It is anticipated that voters will “walk in” unhindered. Those with physical disabilities might get assistance. Queue control requires voters to wait to enter the boundary until they are cleared. Voters are not permitted to wear contender colors or effigies at the polling place, such as T-shirts, caps, or posters. It is forbidden for delegates to enter the voting booth or screen in groups or pairs.

“Voting will take place outdoors, in full public view, rather than indoors. It is illegal for anyone who is not accredited to enter the voting area. A delegate is not permitted to re-enter the voting area once they have cast their ballot. According to the committee, “anyone found instructing a delegate on which contestant to vote for commits an offense and shall be removed by the police.”
