Nigerian afrobeats singer, Divine Ikubor, commonly known as Rema, has made history as the first African artiste to perform at the prestigious Ballon d’Or ceremony.

The 23-year-old gave a performance on Monday night at the 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris, France.

The football stars in attendance were captivated by his show-stopping rendition of the hit song “Calm Down.”

Notably, Rema’s appearance marked a historic moment as he became the first ever African artiste to perform at the prestigious Ballon d’Or awards.

The 23-year-old received an invitation to perform following Manchester City’s Club of the Season award. Erling Haaland and Vinicius Jr. were among the numerous football stars seated in the front row when Rema came off stage to shake hands.
