The KEB Health Foundation, a dedicated non-governmental organization (NGO), is making significant strides in addressing healthcare disparities in the Ho West district.

Their steadfast mission to advance healthcare equality involves conducting quarterly outreach programs to educate and provide medical assistance to underserved communities facing challenges like financial constraints, geographical distances, or prevailing misconceptions that hinder them from seeking hospital care.

Dr. Emmanuel Atsu Apanga, the Principal Medical Officer at the Kpedze Policlinic in the Ho West district, highlighted prevalent health challenges in these communities, including malaria, respiratory tract infections, and non-communicable diseases like hypertension and diabetes affecting both adults and children.

“The quarterly outreach initiatives are pivotal in addressing health issues that often go untreated due to barriers like financial constraints, geographical remoteness, or misconceptions surrounding healthcare,” noted Dr. Apanga.

“Our goal is to bring education, treatment, and care directly to the doorstep of those who might not otherwise access hospital services.”

Dr. Apanga highlighted the foundation’s proactive approach, which involves conducting screenings for HIV and Tuberculosis during these outreach programs.

These screenings serve the dual purpose of detecting health conditions in their early stages and preventing the spread of communicable diseases within these vulnerable communities.

Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, the Patron of the KEB Health Foundation and the Member of Parliament for the Ho West constituency, emphasized the significance of healthcare initiatives that prioritize the well-being of the community.

“The KEB Health Foundation plays a crucial role in ensuring that every individual, regardless of financial status or location, has access to quality healthcare. It aligns with our collective commitment to improving the well-being of our constituents.”

The KEB Health Foundation serves as a symbol of compassion and dedication, working tirelessly to foster positive health outcomes in the challenging-to-access communities at the core of the Ho West Constituency in the Volta Region.
