Legon Cities Football Club, located in Accra, was ambushed by individuals who appeared to be armed while returning from a game against the Samartex Football Club in the Western North Region.

After stopping the team’s bus at Toase, the alleged armed robbers gave the order for everyone inside to get down while brandishing weapons at them.

The thieves were successful in stealing all of the team’s valuables, including cash, cell phones, and laptops.

In a November 2, 2023, today, the team stated to Ghana360news that they had arrived in Accra safely following the incident and that “the club would make a representation to the police this morning to address the issue.”
