The Institute for Energy Security, IES, anticipates consistent fuel prices in Ghana as the first pricing window opens on December 1, 2023. Their projections are based on marginal shifts in international petroleum prices and a slower depreciation of the Cedi.

Despite the world crude oil market’s volatility, local gasoline prices have decreased by GH¢0.27 per liter, diesel by GH¢0.32 per liter, while LPG remains steady at GH¢13 per kilogram.

IES attributes these local price drops to a global decline in petroleum demand. However, they caution that the slight depreciation of the Cedi against the US dollar may offset some global savings.

Despite these fluctuations, IES predicts relative stability in fuel prices for the initial weeks of December 2023 in Ghana.
