Chris Hughton, the head coach of the Black Stars, claims that the team’s loss to Comoros was caused by a lack of precision in front of goal.
On Tuesday, November 21, Ghana lost the second game of their African 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament in Moroni.
The Irish manager claimed that although the Blacks had the upper hand for much of the game, they were unable to take advantage of their opportunities.
“Congratulations on Comoros’ triumph. I thought we were the superior team for the entire ninety minutes. After the match, Hughton declared, “I thought Ghana was the better team.”
“We gave up what we thought was a bad goal to give up and we missed our opportunities to score.
Consequently, Comoros did not win this match easily. We were the superior team for the entire ninety minutes, but regrettably, we were unable to convert the opportunities we created.
After the loss, the Black Stars were unable to advance to the top of Group I and were left with three points after two rounds of play.
The team’s focus will now shift to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which is scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast in January 2024.
