In a highly anticipated and closely-watched event over the weekend, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held their presidential primaries, drawing the attention of political enthusiasts and the nation at large. the NPP held their long-awaited presidential primaries on November 4.

The battle for flagbearership was a four-horse race between, Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, former agric minister Owusu Afriyie Akoto, MP for Assin Central Kennedy Ohene Agyapong and former MP for Mampong, Francis Addai-Nimoh.

The results sent shockwaves throughout the political landscape as Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia emerged as the undisputed victor, securing a landslide victory with 61.43% of the votes.

Notably, the primaries showcased an unexpected and spirited challenge from Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central and the main contender in this race. Hon Kennedy, widely known for his outspoken and often controversial statements, took many by surprise by garnering a significant 37.41% of the votes.
