A member of the communications team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kofi Ameyaw has said what happened to the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) in the just-ended national delegates conference was not the best.
He assured that the party is working to correct the mistake that occurred.
The NPP received injunctions stopping its student wing, TESCON and local proxy voters from casting their ballots in the delegates conference on Saturday July 16.
This affected over 300 students from voting.
TESCON executives expressed their disappointment over the situation.
But speaking on the New Day show on TV3 with Johnnie Hughes, Monday July 18, Kofi Ameyaw assured TESCON that they remain an important unit in the party.
“TESCON members have always been voting but there was an issue that needed to be addressed,” he said.
He added “I share with them, they have the right to be angry. This is not a good thing, it has to be fixed. TESCON members have been recognized in the party, what happened on Saturday is extremely unfortunate and we will fix this going forward.”
