Alhaji Malik Al-Hassan Yakubu, a former interior minister in the Kufuor administration, has commended Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for being chosen to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He conveyed his faith in Dr. Bawumia’s capacity to propel the nation’s economic expansion.

Dr. Bawumia’s election, according to Alhaji Malik Al-Hassan Yakubu, is a critical turning point that will significantly improve Ghana’s standing in the international economy.

He emphasized the significance of adopting progressive concepts, referencing the achievements of digitalization across multiple industries.

“If he is given the opportunity to lead this nation, I have no doubt that the economy will grow tremendously in the direction he is headed. I have no doubt that the caliber of his ideas will advance this nation. We will see major improvements in our economic fortunes if he wins the 2024 elections” he said.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia won the NPP’s recent presidential primaries with 118,210 votes.
Following this triumph, Dr. Bawumia will take on former President John Dramani Mahama, who earlier in the year got the backing of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The NDC and the NPP are expected to fight hard in the 2024 election, hoping to reverse the historical trend of no party winning more than two terms in a row under the Fourth Republic.
