On Sunday, October 29, 2023, earlier in the day, Hon. Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, the deputy majority whip and member of parliament for the Tolon constituency, was involved in an accident while travelling to Cheriponi in the Northeast as part of a team preparing the grounds for the vice president, H. E. Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, to arrive as part of his flagbearership campaign tour on November 4, 2023.
Speaking to Hon. Habib via phone call, he confirmed the accident but disprove the claims that he, his driver and bodyguard were injured as a result of the accident this morning.
The vice president was scheduled to visit each of the six constituencies in the Northeast starting Sunday, October 29, 2023, with the final stop being Monday, October 30, 2023.
On the other hand, the NDC candidate and his team, who were involved in an accident on the Nyanpkala Tolon road, also escape without any injuries.
