“Every day, I hear new lies about myself”, says Dr. Bawumia
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president and a front-runner for the NPP flagbearer position, claims he is the target of new lies every day. With just two weeks to party primaries, the vice president is currently campaigning and claims his rivals are creating rumors about him out of fear of losing to him in the polls on November 4. “Unfortunately, the way the super delegates’ results came in has left many of our opponents perplexed and aware of our impending defeat on November 4; as a result, they have chosen to implement some new tactics. What are the new tactics? He addressed delegates in the Tatale-Sanguli Constituency, saying, “They have chosen to propagate false information, sow division among us, and cause issues amongst chairmen and constituency executives, as well as the polling station executives and electoral area coordinators. Prior to the presidential primary, the Vice President has been subjected to a torrent of attacks from Kennedy Agyapong, the front-runner, including the most recent attack from Prof. Frimpong-Boateng, a former environment minister. In an exclusive interview with Ghana360news, the former Environment Minister said that the ruling party, running the Vice President as its nominee, would find it difficult to win the 2024 elections. “His opponents merely need to play back the numerous statements he made in the past, and then we’ll see.therefore the party would have it harder,” he informed the host. The Vice President feels that since they “want to knock our heads together so they have come with different lies.” Despite having chosen silent throughout the campaign, Dr. Bawumia remarked, “Every day as I sit down and watch what they are saying, I’m hearing a lie.” “They say I have given all Constituency Chairmen, 275 Constituency Chairmen a GHC100, 000 and a pick-up. Have you seen any pick-up here for your chairman? This is just a ridiculous lie,” the Vice President said to the cheering supporters. Dr Bawumia further debunked claims he is advocating for sitting MPs to contest their primaries unopposed. For Dr Bawumia,…
